International Bank of Qatar (ibq) has announced the sponsorship of the Qatari Businesswomen Association’s (QBWA) second annual Mentoring Walk on March 7th, 2015. Part of an international annual initiative, the Global Mentoring Walk, “Walk and Talk”, brings together established women leaders and rising stars for a two hour walk around Aspire Park to discuss their professional challenges and successes and establish a mentoring relationship.

Jabra Ghandour, Managing Director of ibq said: “In line with ibq’s ongoing CSR program supporting sports and educational initiatives, ibq fully endorses the goals behind the Global Mentoring Walk, as it links mentoring young women by established leaders with healthy exercise. At ibq, we recognize the growing interest in financial literacy of women in Qatar and support them through educational and business focused initiatives as part of our community program.”

Aisha Alfardan, Vice Chairman, QBWA, said: “We would like to thank ibq for supporting this important global initiative in Qatar, as one of 75 walks taking place simultaneously in 53 countries around the world. We are proud to be the organiser of this event linking women starting out with experienced female business leaders to ‘walk and talk’ and benefit from the mentoring process.” The Global Mentoring Walk aims to encourage collaboration and networking among emerging and established women leaders in the business community.
