On Tuesday evening, The American Chamber of Commerce in Qatar (AmCham Qatar) and the German Business Council Qatar (GBCQ) convened leaders from top global companies for a joint discussion examining challenges, opportunities and strategies for business success in Qatar. The hour-long discussion hosted by AmCham Qatar and GBCQ was a united effort to give business leaders in Qatar the insights and information they need to support the development and diversification of Qatar’s private sector.
Approximately 100 decision makers discussed hot topics of critical importance to Qatar’s business community, including procurement policy and strategy, talent recruitment, and payment systems. The session was moderated by John Forde, Founder and Director of PRO-Partnership and COO of the Bethel Group. Forde has lived in Qatar since 1978. His Excellency Sheikh Abdulrahman Hassan Al-Thani, Chairman of the Bethel Group, and Saleh Hamad Al Sharqi, Deputy General Manager of the Qatar Chamber, were the forum’s honored guests.
The expert panel agreed that having a strong presence on the ground in Qatar and a long-term commitment to doing business in the market were the two top factors for success. AmCham Qatar Chairman, Robert A.
