Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation “Kahramaa”, represented in Water Project Department, Technical Affairs, recently announced two tenders. The first tender is for constriction of Customer Contact & AMI Center at Al-Thumama south of Doha.

The Department has announced also another tender for reconstruction & upgrading of Old Salwa RPS with underground reservoirs. The tenders come within Kahramaa continuous improvement and plans for the upgrade and development of water sectors. It relentlessly works to provide high quality services in order to increase customer satisfaction.

The first tender includes construction of Customer Contact & AMI Center. The proposed customer contact and AMI centre is located at Al-Thumama south of Doha. The building comprises Basement, Ground and Two floors and a service area with total built up area exceeds 18,000 m2, in addition to external landscape.


Kahramaa has adopted a strategic option for the installation of smart meters and application of remote reading in order to avoid the incorrect bills.

The other tender of Reconstruction & Upgrading of Old Salwa RPS included design, supply, and construction of a 30 MIG underground reservoir, Pump house to accommodate 8 pumps and 4 slots for future. It also includes the construction of control building, 3 office buildings of, water operation & maintenance building comprising of basement, ground and 3 floors.

The projects are part of the upgrade of existing networks Kahramaa implements to upgrade services and meet the need for water. Kahramaa aims to provide high quality services for customers as the projects come in line with its commitment to provide high quality services.

It is worth to mention that Kahramaa witnesses noticeable growth in water basic infrastructure where many pumping stations and reservoirs are constructed in addition to the installation of water transmission and distribution networks. Kahramaa has projects for the upgrade of existing stations and reservoirs, as well as replacement of water pipelines inside and outside Doha. Kahramaa has recently announced the initial commissioning of five water stations at Duhail, Um Qarn, Musaimer, south Doha, and Muaizer in addition to the construction of reservoirs at existing stations.
