Within its commitment to support and promote local production of the agricultural and livestock sector, the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) will launch the third edition of the Mahaseel shopping festival next Monday. Around 22 local farms, flowers nursery and six other national companies for dairies and meat products are all participating in the market of Mahaseel this year.

Timing: The shopping festivak is open from 9am to 9pm; Dec 31 to Jan 5; after which every weekend till March 31.

The market features Qatari farms selling various types of fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants and local companies offering food products related to livestock, in addition to natural honey produced by the Qatari farms and the best varieties of local dates. Twenty-two Qatari farms and six major national companies specialised in producing and selling sheep meat, poultry, eggs, dairy products and natural juices are participating at the souq.

The festival also offers several entertainment and awareness activities for children and adults to enhance the experience of visitors and educate them on the best practices while shopping. The activities will also include workshops on plantation and flowers arrangement, in addition to some essential agricultural knowledge. Mahaseel serves as a good marketing platform for local farms, which offer reasonable prices for their produce.
