The Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Qatar Shell celebrated the start of the football season by organising a pop-up football match at Sealine Beach. Open to the general public, the event was promoting the Yalla Nal’Ab programme which facilitates access to more opportunities and spaces to play football for free across Qatar.

With 8 different venues around Qatar, Yalla Nal’Ab makes playing football as easy as possible. Access is open and free to anyone who wants to have an informal kickabout in a non-competitive environment. The programme includes venues dedicated to females. Females account for over 36% of participants of the programme, proving that football is not just a boy’s game.

‘Yalla Nal’Ab’ is part of the award-winning KOORA TIME initiative developed by the QFA in partnership with Qatar Shell. The initiative is designed to improve the health and wellbeing of young people in Qatar through football. Since its launch in March 2013, the programme has benefitted over 17,500 children in Qatar. In recognition for its positive impact on the health of youth, KOORA TIME has been the recipient of numerous awards including the ‘Sports Industry Award’ for Best CSR Initiative, ‘CSR Award Qatar’ for Best CSR Impact Initiative, the ‘Dar Al Sharq Corporate Social Responsibility Award’ for the Best Sports Initiative, and the ‘AFC Dream of Asia Award’ in the area of social responsibility.
