As temperatures rise in Qatar, Kulluna will again visit construction sites and outdoor workplaces across the country in an effort to raise awareness about the importance of protecting against the heat.

Last year Kulluna representatives visited more than 50 construction sites and other locations, distributing packs containing items that will help workers beat the heat, such as a reusable water bottle, a cap, fresh fruit, a regular water bottle and a portable cooling bag to keep the liquids cool at all times. During each visit, the Kulluna team also distributes information leaflets- translated into five languages - are also handed out for workers to be able to revisit the information at their own convenience and share with their friends and colleagues.

Dr. Khalid Abdulnoor Saifeldeen, Director of Hamad International Training Centre said the campaign was being brought back because of the success of last year’s efforts. “With summer being one of the longest seasons in Doha, it is important for us to educate everyone in Qatar and raise awareness about heat-related illnesses and how to prevent them,” he said.

“The aim of the ‘Beat the Heat’ campaign is to reduce the number of heat related illnesses by educating the public, particularly those who work outdoors and their employers, about how to stay safe in the heat. By taking a few simple steps, you can prevent heat-related illnesses.”
