Building on the success of Qatar Business Incubation Center’s (QBIC) first LeanStartup program, entrepreneurs selected from the program will have the opportunity to pitch their projects to a panel of judges on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at QBIC’s facility in the New Industrial Area.

Leading up to Demo Day, QBIC had organized groundwork oriented-action programs for entrepreneurs who successfully completed the LeanStartup program to begin building the skills and techniques needed to pitch their business ideas to the judges. Upon completion of the presentations, the various projects will go through a thorough evaluation process whereby the selected winners will be granted an opportunity to have their business ideas incubated by QBIC.

QBIC will provide a range of globally-benchmarked services, designed in partnership with leading entrepreneurial experts, to fulfill entrepreneurs’ demands. These include office space, industrial workshops, administrative, technical and financial support. In addition QBIC will provide an integrated and supportive environment for entrepreneurs from the idea stage - until they graduate as capable and viable projects.

Local entrepreneurs to pitch their projects1[].jpgThe LeanStartup Program, one of QBIC’s flagship programs, is a ten-week entrepreneurial program that provides real world, hands-on learning experience on how to successfully start a company. During the program teams were formed to spend most of their time meeting and listening to customers, partners and competitors. QBIC entrepreneurs use the globally renowned Business Model Canvas to develop their business models and the Customer Validation & Development Model to validate how effectively their business models serve customers.

Participants have showed their enthusiasm and eagerness to showcase their projects to the judging panel during Demo Day and praised the LeanStartup program, which has provided them with needed skills, increased their confidence and ability to sell their ideas and helped them refine their business ideas.

The mixed use incubator is part of a wider public and government push to support and encourage Qatari entrepreneurs to build and grow businesses. QBIC was founded by two of Qatar’s leading government institutions supporting local entrepreneurs: Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and the Social Development Center (SDC), member of Qatar Foundation. QBIC’ goal is to develop the next 100 Million QAR companies and success stories in Qatar.

The event is open to the public. For more information and registration please visit:
