Wintry nights are here and if you are a coffee lover, then Night Market Qatar is the place to be. As you approach the market, the fresh aroma of coffee coming out of well decorated shops soaked in golden lights spell magic on your senses. This market also promotes local products, as items sold here are made in Qatar. The six-month long Night Market Qatar in the parking area of Duhail Sports Club, which started in November, has many other attraction other than coffees.

Once we enter the market, we see the shops lined on both sides of pathways. Most of the shops are food stalls and while a few others sell perfumes and winter clothes. Of all the stalls, it is coffee stalls which rule the market. Most of the stalls here offer different flavours of coffee. Here, the coffee shops have something distinctive to tell. The magical taste of the coffee and the secrecy behind the ingredients made many people to come and taste the coffees. Cold and hot signature coffees served in beautiful, coloured paper cups with brand name sealed on it. Classic Coffee, Blue Wings Coffee, OFF Specialty Coffee, Selby Brothers, Degree Coffee, Specialty Coffee, Target Coffee, etc are among main players in this coffee market. 

John Ray, the co-owner of Selby Brothers, told The Peninsula that the brand name of the coffee shop is influenced from the movie series ‘Selby Brothers’. The ingredients of their coffee is natural and original, and the beans are imported from Ethiopia. “This is our new branch in this market and we will inaugurate our next shop at Gharrafa, in the next month. In addition to the coffee sale, we look more in providing training for workers and good experiences with the customers as well,” said John. Another unique feature of this market is that it serves as a launch pad for many items. Several products are launched here. The night market, is also a good place for the salesmen to market their new Qatari  products, to learn customer behaviour and to improve their marketing style. 

Nasser Al Amri, the head of marketing at Night Market Qatar said that in addition to the products being marketed in the night market, each factors like chair, table, flower pot, crockery items are designed to attract customers. Moreover, the night market also serve as a learning platform for the salesmen as they get opportunity to interact with customers and other salesmen, he added. “The night market has more publicity in the social media platform and has sponsorship of big names such as Ooreedo, Al Jaidah Group and Hyundai. We also get support from the government and this night market can help to increase tourist inflow in Qatar,” he added.
