KidZania, the award-winning edutainment concept, is set to launch in the first quarter of 2018 in Doha. The launch will also include the Boeing 737-500 aircraft, perfectly complementing the aviation section at KidZania – this will be the longest aircraft of all KidZania’s in the region.

KidZania Doha will provide a unique educational and entertainment experience in Qatar, where children will be able to role play in a replication of the real life working environment, with a vast variety of professions to trial. KidZania is the world’s fastest growing family entertainment brand, with KidZania Doha expecting to welcome over 300,000 visitor year-on-year. The establishment will be able to accommodate up to 1,000 children with approximately 250 employees at once. Ric Fernan, Governor, KidZania Doha said, “This year guarantees to be an exceptional period for KidZania as it gears up to the launch. It is a key milestone for us as we continue to expand our facilities across the world in our quest to prepare and inspire the children of tomorrow with key learning tools to enable them to learn about the real working environment.”

The educational environment at KidZania allows children between the ages of four and fourteen to role play the functionalities of working life by combining inspiration, fun and learning. KidZania takes pride in teaching children core values, including Self-reliance, team work, honesty, integrity and giving back to society. The edutainment facility offers children the opportunity to play ‘adult jobs’ in up to 60 pretend roles including being a doctor, dentist, engineer and pilot. KidZania is designed to replicate a city that is built for children, complete with buildings, streets, vehicles and a functioning economy.

The ultra-realistic experience is designed to empower children through each activity and learn a variety of things such as: how society functions, how to finance, how to work with a team, taking on a profession and how to be independent, which are all real life skills. Children will also be able to experience flying the AB380 aircraft with access to 6 state-of-the-art simulators as well as pretend to be cabin crew, learning how to ensure the well-being of their passengers onboard.

Sheikh Nasser Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Tasali Board Member comments, “KidZania brings education and entertainment together to strategically teach children values through programmes prepared to deliver hands-on experience which could not be easily replicated and absorbed in a traditional classroom. The concept is in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 to build a sustainable and harmonised society as KidZania prepares the children of tomorrow, enabling the children in Qatar to fully embrace and learn about real working life and how the economy works.”

KidZania Doha will be located at Aspire Zone in Doha, Qatar, with an expected footprint size of 5,500 square meters, offering 42 branded establishments. The prime location of KidZania Doha will complement the fundamental offering of shopping, leisure and sports of the Aspire Park, making this as a destination of choice for residents and visitors alike.
