Mall of Qatar, the largest shopping Mall in the country when it opens in the last quarter of  2015, has announced at Cityscape Qatar that it will finalise over 70 per cent of its leasing by October 2014 with most of its key strategic agreements in place.

The announcement came as the Mall became one of the highest profile and leading mall exhibitor at Qatar’s biggest real estate event held from 2-4 June. A combination of the mall’s ideal strategic location in the heart of “the New Doha”, world class and unique family entertainment, excellent road and rail connections, experienced management team and the reputation of developer Mall of Qatar W.L.L in collaboration with UrbaCon Trading & Contracting (UCC) has convinced leading retailers and entertainment providers to partner with the Mall of Qatar.

The management team at the Mall of Qatar is delighted with the response they continue to have from major retailers to join the Mall and it is anticipated that by the end of Q3 2014 at least an  estimated 70 per cent or more of the strategic agreements will be concluded, based on letters of commitment and negotiations at hand. The Mall is being built just a short 20 minute drive from the centre of the city and in the heart of a major new development area that will see 10,000 new villas being built, alongside new Metro and regional rail links and improved highway connections to the centre of Doha.

Mr. Krey added that Cityscape Qatar was an important platform for the Mall to update partners, the public and the media on the continuing successful progress of the project  as construction still continues on schedule and they gear up for an opening date in the last quarter of 2015. “We are the largest mall developer exhibiting at Cityscape Qatar and we are using the event as a platform to strengthen existing partnerships and relationships and provide other organisations with the opportunity to find out more about the amazing opportunity the Mall of Qatar offers the country and the region,” he added.

The mall has a premium high profile location at Cityscape –where it is displaying their latest models of the massive project alongside videos, bringing to life what will be a complete retail destination, yet catering for the entire Doha community and the region. Mall of Qatar will be a “A Super Regional Mall” offering over 400 shops, 3 major anchors, a luxury 5 star hotel, a unique Family Entertainment Centre, world class daily live entertainment concept  and an array of 81 international restaurants, cafes and specialty food shops.

This is in addition to the recently announced news that Mall of Qatar has selected Cinemacity to create the largest Cineplex in Qatar, with an IMAX theatre featuring its next-generation digital laser projection system that will be one of 19 screens at the complex.  Cinemacity, a subsidiary of World Media Holding, has partnered with IMAX to create a theatre that will feature the first IMAX digital laser system in the Middle East. Mall of Qatar will be the biggest mall in the country when it opens and it anticipates that up to 10 per cent of its visitors will also come from neighbouring Gulf states – helping to support the Qatar Government’s 2030 vision to attract more tourists and develop the economic intrastructure of the nation.
