Mannai Corporation has sponsored TriClub Doha’s delegation to participate in Challenge Bahrain Ironman Triathlon that is set on 6th December 2014. Over 60 participants from TriClub Doha will be joining the event, which will be one of the largest club delegations participating in the event. Mannai Corporation supported the travel arrangements through Mannai Air Travel, over and above the existing sponsorship of the successful GMC Triathlon Series, which kicked off last month in November at the Aspire Zone in Doha, Qatar.
The Half Ironman distance event in Bahrain will cover a total of 113km that will include 1.9km swim, 90km bike, and 21km half marathon run. The feat is the first event of this distance in Bahrain and will be joined by over 1,000 participants from 51 countries and 80 elite athletes. The course will span the length of Bahrain and finish at the Bahrain International Circuit. GCC has never held a half ironman distance event until this year and Bahrain is one of the two events wherein the other will take place in Dubai.
Mr Farukh Sardar, General Manager-Mannai Air Travel said “We are very pleased to work with the Triathlon Club again to support their strong participation in GCC events, through working with our partners, we are able to get a good deal for the tri-athletes.” Mr Ewan Cameron, CFO- Mannai Corporation, will also take part in the event added, “Mannai is keen to support the triathlon club in its endeavors in this fast growing sport. We wanted Triathlon Team from Doha to stand out so we supplied team shirts for travelling to, and participating in, the event.”
The participants also took part at Qanat Qartier practice swim where the access to the beach was graciously provided by the Pearl (UDC) to assist with the training.
