McDonald’s Qatar and being a very active component in the local society has launched its first annual “Donate a Book”  Ramadan campaign in the  community across Qatar and in partnership with ROFAQA (a Qatar Charity initiative), the Qatari institution which engages communities in promoting the psychological, academic and social wellbeing of children and orphans worldwide. The campaign is designed to engage the residents of Qatar in a non-profit-seeking public activity recognizing the human endeavors involved in building this great nation. The “Donate a Book” campaign has been launched since the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadan and will continue till Eid Al Fitr.  

McDonald's Qatar initiates Donate 2 [qatarisbooming.com].jpgEight boxes were placed on  eight selected premises of McDonald’s Qatar -( Abu Hamour, Woqod (Al Rayyan), Airport, Al Sadd (Suhaim), Mesaieed, Barwa City, Lagoona Mall and Al Meera (Lagtaifiya)-, aiming to encourage donors to donate books and help those children who’s hindered by social and economic barriers to reach their dreams. This charitable effort is part of the company’s ongoing campaign to give them hope, knowledge and provide them with an opportunity to realize their ambition and explore the world through books.

During Eid, the boxes will be delivered to ROFAQA as an Eid present to the people in need. Mr. Kamal Saleh Al Mana, Managing Director of Al Mana Restaurants & Food Co., owner and operator of McDonald’s restaurants in Qatar said, “Our first annual “Donate a Book” Ramadan campaign aims to raise awareness to the donation notion. We are extremely proud to be a part of growth in the country, which resonates in the success of the nation. We will continue to serve our customers and the nation by keeping with our traditional values.”

He added, “We are delighted to lead this campaign which aims to educate the underprivileged children under ROFAQA Charity. Our presence here is in line with our commitment to the community to be a vanguard in supporting charity activities that touch the future generation lives.” The combined philanthropic endeavor of ROFAQA and McDonald’s Qatar will foster and boost the children chances to learn and develop their intellectual capacity and to become a productive citizen in the future.
