Under the slogan (Partnership for Sustainable Statistics) the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics MDPS celebrates Qatar Statistics Day on Monday, December 28, 2015, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Saleh Bin Mohammed Al-Nabit, Minister of Development Planning and Statistics, officials and coordinators from various stakeholders in the state.

The celebration, to be held at MDPS headquarters, aims to raise society awareness of the importance of relying on statistics in our daily lives in general, and to emphasize its importance in policy formulation and monitoring progress in the National Development Strategy 2011-2016 so as to achieve Qatar vision 2030. During the celebration, data production officials and coordinators from several stakeholders in the country will discuss the challenges facing MDPS in producing comprehensive economic, social and environmental data, and the appropriate solutions, as well as to shed light on the future data required for the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Through this celebration MDPS seeks to build a sustainable partnership with data providers in the public and private sectors, in order to ensure quality data flow in a timely manner. During the celebration several MDPS departments will present their vision of statistical cooperation with stakeholders during the next phase, especially with the upcoming launch of the second National Development Strategy 2017-2022, which represents a key stage in achieving QV 2030.
