About the Mercedes-Benz SUV Range

The GLK delivers an extra portion of driving pleasure as standard, courtesy of the AGILITY CONTROL suspension with selective damping system. This system automatically adjusts the suspension set - up to match the current road conditions as requirements dictate. The off - road prowess of the GLK is by no means superficial. Short overhangs at the front and rear and a generous ground clearance combine with the 4MATIC permanent all - wheel drive, fitted as standard, to ensure that the compact all – rounder continues to cut a fine figure far away from gravel car parks. This is because 4MATIC always splits the engine’s power and torque between all four wheels in accordance with requirements, both on the road and off it. The resulting boost to traction and directional stability enhances both the vehicle’s agility and handling safety in equal measure.

With the optional Off - Road Engineering package on board, the GLK even makes light work of more challenging terrain. The simulated under-guard helps to reduce damage caused by any grains of sand or small stones which are thrown up, for example. What’s more, the off - road capabilities of the GLK can be honed further still by pushing a single button to trigger carefully programmed alterations of the drive characteristics. The task of conventional differential locks is handled by the Electronic Traction System (4ETS), which has been specially optimized for all - wheel - drive models with 4MATIC. This saves weight without compromising on performance in the slightest. On steep downhill descents, the driver can also count on the support of the Downhill Speed Regulation ( DSR ) function, which keeps the speed constant by regulating the engine and transmission as well as applying the brakes automatically. Even when the going gets tough, maximum traction, directional stability and straightforward handling are second nature to the GLK.

The ML

A Mercedes-Benz M-Class promises an exhilarating and challenging trip ahead. The front end, with a radiator grille featuring black louvres and chrome highlights, immediately signals determination. Equally striking are the exterior mirrors and the silver-coloured simulated underguard. The front apron with its impressive visual width and integral fog lamps complements the transition to the headlamps to underline the muscular character of the M-Class.

Muscular wings and protective sidebars dominate the side view of the M-Class. They form the basis of the dynamic silhouette. The appearance of the M - Class is enhanced to great effect by the powerful look of the standard 17 or 19 – inch wheels.

When it comes to dynamism, the ML 350 4MATIC all-wheel drive is in its element. With its 6 cylinders, this petrol-engine vehicle delivers optimum performance and impresses with its exemplary smoothness of operation. For extreme power and that characteristic sound, there is a choice of two V8 engines for the M-Class: the ML 500 4MATIC and the ML 63 AMG 4MATIC. The 7G-TRONIC, the optimised standard-fit 7-speed automatic transmission with DIRECT SELECT steering-wheel gearshift buttons makes driving the M-Class even more comfortable. Whether on a paved road, on mud or grass or gravel – the M-Class masters even the most challenging handling situations with ease. The powerful engines, together with the virtually infinitely variable 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission, ensure the ultimate in motoring pleasure.

The ML's off-road switch makes all of the electronic systems on board primed for off-road driving and extra traction. If one of the wheels loses grip, the ESP®/4ETS system divides the power amongst the other wheels. Permanent 4MATIC all-wheel drive has additional functions that have proven their worth when travelling cross-country. Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR) keeps the speed under control when driving down steep hills, while hill start assist makes starting on a steep hill as easy as driving on a straight road.

The G 500

Dynamism, safety and comfort are the classic attributes that transform a car into a Mercedes – Benz and the G-Class is no exception. The G-Class offers a unique take on these hallmarks even in the world’s most remote locations where few vehicles make the grade. The G - Class began its incredible journey back in 1979. Countless technical improvements and modernisation measures have been introduced over the years. Yet its unique character remains firmly intact.

The new 5.5-litre V8 engine in the G 500 has a peak output of 285 kW (388 hp) thanks to its 4 valves per cylinder and continuously adjustable intake and outlet camshafts. Its maximum torque is 530 Nm between 2800 and 4800 rpm - optimum power delivery and refinement guaranteed. The G 500 also features the 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

A motor car bearing the Mercedes star is a promise of quality and precise workmanship and the inside the G-Class upholds this promise. The generous spaciousness of the vehicle's interior imparts a feeling of freedom even while the car is standing still. Careful attention to detail is also displayed in the fine-leather-trimmed steering wheel whichswings upwards to make getting out even easier.

The COMAND APS multimedia system with its highly-efficient hard disc navigationcombines the operation of navigation system, radio, DVD changer and telephone. With the integrated LINGUATRONIC system you can operate all the multimedia, communication and navigation functions with ease and comfort through voice input. In addition, COMAND APS offers you the possibility to play MP3 / WMA data. Optionally available in conjunction with COMAND APS: a TV receiver for analogue and digital television. Satellite-supported GPS navigation guides you along the shortest or fastest way to the address entered.

Drivers who opt for a genuine off-roader generally have a burning desire for freedom. And the G-Class interior caters to this desire, offering a wealth of space and a choice of seating configurations. From two-seater to seven-seater, almost everything is possible in and with a G-Class.

When meeting the challenges off the beaten track, the driver receives additional assistance courtesy of the transfer case’s off-road ratio - specified as standard. The transfer case switches from the on-road ratio to the off-road ratio, generating low speed and maximum traction, and a stunning gradient-climbing ability of 80 %. The permanent all-wheel drive, the 4ETS electronic traction system, the synchronised transfer case and the three 100 % differential locks work together in perfect harmony in the G-Class. If a wheel loses traction, the power is redirected to the wheels offering the best grip. Even if only one wheel is providing grip, your vehicle will still make good headway.

All of the Mercedes-Benz SUV range can be customized to suit every individual taste. The ML Class is also available as AMG model and the G Class fans can opt for a G55 or G55 AMG. All models are available for test drive.
