Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC), the national platform for leadership excellence under the guidance of H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, this week welcomed the Minister of Economy and Commerce, H.E. Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani, to address participants in its Rising Leaders Program at QLC’s Qatar Policy Seminar.

At the seminar, the Minister discussed Qatar National Vision 2030, with special emphasis on the economic development of the state and the range of corresponding policies. He also touched upon the role of the Ministry to achieve the national vision. H.E. highlighted that the progress of Qatar’s economy and the achievements that Qatar has made over the last few years are apparent in the policies pursued by the State, and aligned with local and external developments.

The Minister underlined the importance of stimulating and enhancing the private sector in Qatar which are imperative to the economic, human, social and environmental development of the country. H.E. emphasized the value of building knowledge, and outlined how Qatar is working toward a knowledge-based economy as an integral part of further creating long-term economic prosperity. H.E. the Minister of Economy and Commerce explained the role of the Ministry in consumer protection, market regulation and the preservation of competition, while reviewing the most important challenges the ministry is aiming to overcome.

At the end of the seminar, H.E. responded to the inquiries and questions from the Rising leaders participants related to the topics highlighted by H.E.
