Mowasalat (Karwa) in collaboration with external parties organised Health & Safety Week event at staff accommodation in Karwa City that took place from December 2-7 with theme “#MyLifeMatters”. 

The event included several medical activities organised by Mowasalat Medical Center in cooperation with Qatar Red Crescent, Qatar Diabetes Association and Qatar Cancer Society including free basic health checkup, as well as a number of short awareness programs and presentations on health, safety, proper nutrition and first aid training which presented by a number of specialist doctors. Mowasalat Health, Safety and Environment Department partnered with external sources and vendors to present interactive programs and civil defense live demonstrations that add value stressing on the importance of safety at work place, home, environment and our lives. This event is part of Mowasalat’s annual planned activities to spread awareness for general health and safety on all levels, in addition to help the Company’s employees and drivers to fulfil their duties in a healthy and safe environment.

In the presence of Nasser bin Mohammed Al Malki, Mowasalat Chairman, Khalid Nasser Al Hail, Mowasalat Managing Director & CEO, Company managers and employees, and big numbers of Mowasalat drivers, Mowasalat (Karwa) also held its two-day annual Year End festival and Chairman Cup closing ceremony for its drivers and support staff which falls within the framework of staff welfare and motivation activities. The event included Mowasalat Chairman Cup closing ceremony where Nasser bin Mohammed Al Malki, Mowasalat Chairman, Khalid Nasser Al Hail, Mowasalat Managing Director & CEO, distributed trophies and medals on games champions. In addition, appreciation certificates were awarded to the event organizing committee. The event also witnessed many raffle draws for lucky winners of Company drivers. 

Besides various entertainment and artistic programmes of diverse culture and origin which included Bollywood, Hindi, Nepali, Malayalam, Tamil, English, African & Arabic, in addition to a “Talent Show” for employees, which was a platform given for them to exhibit their talent, skills & creativity in music and arts. Khalid Nasser Al Hail, Mowasalat Managing Director & CEO, said that such events develop the collaboration spirit among the Company teams, and enhance closeness and cohesion among them, which contribute in creating an interactive work environment that achieves the sought after sustainable development objectives. 

Al Hail also added that Mowasalat organis es such events to meet its social responsibility to encourage employees to participate and show their support & solidarity and friendliness. “This impacts on the efficiency and effectiveness increasing productivity at work through cultural bonding and social connections among the employees, creating a healthy and interactive work environment, especially the company tailored this event to give taste and flavor of various cultures satisfying & catering to different nationalities in the company.”
