A Mwani Qatar corporate video received a Bronze Award at the Brand Film Festival London held recently in London, with the participation of filmmakers, creatives, marketing professionals and brand leaders from around the world.

The corporate video, produced by The Edge Picture Company, was selected by the festival organisation committee to enter the shortlist in the corporate category, one of 22 categories that the festival celebrates annually. The Edge and Mwani Qatar received special recognition for how challenging the brief was due to the fact that much of the construction had not finished yet.

To tackle this, The Edge approached the film with animation in mind, depicting Mwani Qatar’s future vision, according to the Ministry of Transport and Communications’ strategic marketing plan aimed at transforming Qatar into a regional trading hub. The animation was then blended with elements of live action footage in a variety of styles of the ports operated by Mwani Qatar. The Brand Film Festival celebrates and showcases the best of branded content films, from three-second shorts to 60-minute documentary series, the films that are leading the way in their craft, creativity and effectiveness, as well as honouring the agencies, brands and filmmakers behind them.

The Mwani Qatar corporate video was launched in conjunction with the inauguration of the company’s new identity last October. The three-minutes-plus film takes the audience on a narrative journey around Mwani Qatar’s facilities. Through judicious editing, the viewers were “seamlessly guided from port to port around Qatar”, Mwani Qatar said in a press statement. The film was primarily made with the end goal of letting the people of Qatar know that Mwani Qatar has a brand-new vision in relation to world-class shipping facilities around the country, which eventually would create a “gateway to the world”, hence the name of the film, the statement explained.

By managing three vital facilities in the country, Mwani Qatar “plays a pivotal role in achieving the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 by supporting economic diversification, domestic market stability and the implementation of the State’s development plans, through ensuring the smooth handling of imports and exports and related supplies for both ongoing and future projects”. In addition, Mwani Qatar is promoting the plans aimed at transforming Qatar into a regional trading hub in the region through investing in the infrastructure of ports, modern technology and adopting best practices in its operations.
