Nando’s, the South African casual dining restaurant chain, in cooperation with Hyatt Plaza shopping mall, hosted a memorable Iftar event for the children of Dhreima Qatar Orphan Foundation, on 17th August in Hyatt Plaza.

70 children enjoyed the Nando’s Iftar festivities, while the 30 adults who accompanied them joined in on the celebration.

The event marked a commemoration of the Holy Month of Ramadan and afforded Nando’s Qatar the opportunity to share their prosperity with the community during this special time.

Francois Rousseau, Group General Manager of Oryx Group for Food Services expressed how proud Nando’s was to be associated with Dhreima Qatar Orphan Foundation and how happy they were to be able to host an Iftar for the children. Rousseau added that Nando’s was a firm believer in supporting local communities and that particularly during the Holy month it was rewarding to do something for the less privileged.

Rousseau concluded the event by thanking Hyatt Plaza for their cooperation in supporting Nando’s, and said that Nando’s hoped to make this Iftar celebration an annual event in their calendar of supportive initiatives for Dhreima Qatar Orphan Foundation.

Feroz Moideen, General Manager of Hyatt Plaza said ‘We are glad to partner with Nando’s to achieve one of our social responsibilities’.

The Hyatt Plaza venue was a cauldron of laughter and joy as children and adults alike enjoyed a Nando’s meal together. The children each received a wonderful goody bag filled with a selection of toys, while the adults didn’t miss out, with their own peri-peri goody bag to take home with them.
