Ooredoo’s mobile app – the handy application that gives customers full control of their communication needs from their mobile – has become the most downloaded nationally-produced app in Qatar, hitting more than 100,000 downloads since its launch in April 2013.

To celebrate this remarkable milestone, Ooredoo has announced a new contest today, where customers can win an iPhone5 by downloading the Ooredoo Mobile App. Customers simply download the App – which is available for Apple IOS, Android and Blackberry – and register their details. Customers who already have the Ooredoo App can still enter by selecting the raffle option on the Apps menu.

Ooredoo’s new competition will run for four weeks, with a total of 20 iPhones available to win every week.

The App is free to download and enables customers to complete a range of activities on their mobile, including managing their Nojoom account, Topping-up Hala accounts, paying Shahry bills, and searching both the residential and business phone directories.

In addition, customers can find and reserve an Easy-To-Remember number, download Monthly bills as a PDF and complete other self-services, such as changing their Shahry packages.

Apps are increasingly a part of daily life in Qatar, with a growing number of international and local companies using them to enable customers to access their accounts and stay in touch wherever they are in the world.

Since its April launch, the Ooredoo app has received glowing reviews across all platforms, and topped the charts from its first week on both the Apple Store and Google Play listings in the “Utilities” as well as the “Overall” ranking.

The Ooredoo app was developed to give Ooredoo customers another platform to interact with the company, and works in parallel with the Ooredoo Help line at 111, and staff at Ooredoo Shops.
