To accomplish this vision, the company is set to become an “ICT innovation engine” for Qatar, building best-in-class capabilities in-house while engaging with an ecosystem of world-leading innovative partners. IT and telecoms are converging around the world, and Ooredoo has partnerships with almost all of the world’s leading technology companies, supported by incredible infrastructure assets such as the Ooredoo Supernet. This means that we can provide a fully-integrated offering that is unmatched by any other company.”

Across the region, the IT services market is growing nearly twice as fast as the traditional telecoms connectivity sector. Even with the current economic uncertainty created by lower oil prices, companies are continuing to seek improved efficiency, better communication and enhanced productivity by deploying the latest technologies. For Ooredoo, which has long-standing links with companies and organisations across Qatar from the largest enterprises to small local businesses, this dynamic demand creates the opportunity to be a “one-stop-shop” for all ICT services. Customers will be able to come to Ooredoo’s highly-trained specialists and seek everything from connectivity to data centres, through to full system integration services.

For Qatar, Ooredoo’s role in the development of an enhanced technology ecosystem will create a number of important benefits. As well as contributing to the growth of the knowledge-based economy, which is part of the Qatar National Vision 2030, it will also open new opportunities for ambitious young people looking to build a career in IT.
