Mark your calendars! Only three days to go until the opening of the highly anticipated Picasso-Giacometti exhibition. For the first time in the Middle East, Qatar Museums is getting ready to present the first exhibition dedicated to the work of two of the most important artists of the twentieth century, Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) and Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966), at the Fire Station’s Garage Gallery.

Running from 22 February until 21 May, 2017, the exhibition will bring together more than 120 works, drawn from the collections of the Musée national Picasso-Paris and the Fondation Giacometti in Paris, as well as exceptional loans from French and other international collections. Also for the first time, this exhibition will reveal the unique and captivating story of Picasso and Giacometti, who shared many key moments during their long and distinguished careers. On the day of the opening, 22nd February from 6– 8pm, a public roundtable event will take place at the Fire Station auditorium with Catherine Grenier and the Musée national Picasso-Paris director Laurent Le Bon. The event will see both directors discuss the exhibition, its concept, development and curation.
