More than 1,000 bikers from the six GCC countries are participating in the second annual GCC Charity Bike Show today at Aspire Zone behind Torch Hotel, said The Peninsula. Hundreds of spectators are expected to flock to the charity parade to see a wide range of motorbikes — from vintage to the latest models — on display. The event will also showcase custom bikes and bikes from different classes from all over the GCC, and will be hosted by Soul Riders MC for the second time in a row.

The show is one of a series of events and activities Aspire Zone is organising throughout the month for children, families and the community. Tomorrow, Aspire Zone is organising Kids Run in The Park, a monthly activity where school students run a specially designed 2.5km course throughout the Aspire Zone grounds. There are two categories: One for students aged from 10 to 15 at 8am and the other for children above 13 and starts at 8.45am.

Also taking place tomorrow is the Third Race of the Aquathon Series from 6am to noon. The Aquathon series takes place every year at Aspire Zone and comprises four races across several months. Each race includes a swim at Dome Pool and a run around the Aspire Zone grounds. This event is open to people of all ages and abilities, aged eight and over, and features adult categories where participants run for 5km and swim for 500m, as well as a kids’ category where youngsters run between 1.5km and 3km and swim between 100m and 300m according to their age group.

Aspire Zone has again launched its Learn2Ride initiative for youngsters to learn how to ride a bicycle. It also aims to help them improve their cycling ability. The locally-based programme aims children aged eight and above with interest in cycling. Aspire Zone has again rolled out its new season for Kids Art In The Park 2014/15 which started on last December 20 and runs every Saturday until March 21 from 11am to 1pm. Kids Art In The Park consists of fun, educational and creative activities children can try under the art tent at Aspire Park behind the main playground.
