In association with Qatar Foundation for Elderly People Care (Ihsan), The Pearl-Qatar, one the most distinguished destinations in Qatar, has welcomed today a group of elderly people to the Island as part of a series of excursions to be held throughout the remainder of the year, allowing senior members of the community to experience the ambiance of The Pearl-Qatar rather differently.

Around 30 women from “Ihsan” participated in this first trip while a similar number is scheduled to partake in each of the remaining three visits spread throughout November and December of this year. The visit comes within the framework of cooperation between United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar and "Ihsan". The second and third excursions will welcome about 60 women combined, while the fourth and last trip will be designated for about 30 people of elderly men also members in "Ihsan".

The excursion program includes a golf cart ride along the Porto Arabia Boardwalk followed by a water shuttle tour, each giving a different yet equally beautiful perspective of the Island. After some free time shopping and taking photos, the group is treated to an opulent Lebanese lunch at Burj Al-Hamam to end a perfect leisurely day at The Pearl-Qatar. Commenting on the excursions, Roger Dagher, UDC Director of Corporate Communications, the Island’s master developer, said, “We believe The Pearl-Qatar is a development created for the enjoyment of community members of all ages and walks of life. Seeing how our elderly visitors spent a good time today stands testament to the Island’s attractiveness for residents in Qatar who are always willing to visit time and time again.”

For his part, Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Maraghi, Director of Programs Department at the Qatar Foundation for Elderly People Care stated: "This visit shows diligence on part of UDC and The Pearl-Qatar to cater to the needs of all segments of society. Our Foundation considers care for the elderly as a moral and religious duty towards parents and grandparents who played their role and contributed to what society is today. These seniors now deserve our respect and attention, and the excursions planned with The Pearl-Qatar translate both establishments’ dedication and support to community initiatives and humanitarian causes, that serve the interest of the Qatari society."

In addition to personalized tours, The Pearl-Qatar also extends regular visits to local and international media as well as business and official delegations which have established the Island as a place of interest for its natural and built beauty, offering leisure, adventure, and amusement.
