Qatar Airways is pleased to be the Official Airline Partner for the Qatar-India Music Extravaganza, a spectacular event that will see Bollywood’s ‘Sultans of Swag’ Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani perform live for the first time ever in Doha, Qatar. The concert will be presented by FAB Entertainment and will take place at the state-of-the-art Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena in Doha on 1 March 2019.

The much-anticipated concert will also include a special performance by famous Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi, who will wear a bespoke ensemble by global fashion designer Manish Malhotra. This Qatari-Indian duet performance will take place as part of the Qatar-India Year of Culture 2019, a year-long collaboration that sees both nations jointly celebrate their unique cultural legacies. The concert will feature globally-acclaimed Indian singer-songwriter duo Vishal and Shekhar, who are known for delivering chart-toppers ever year for the Indian music industry. Their biggest hit, "Swag Se Swagat", became the world's fastest song to hit 100 million views on YouTube before going on to reach nearly 700 million views. The pair have composed music for more than 60 films, released more than 300 songs, and have performed in more than 500 live concerts.

Vishal Dadlani is an Indian singer, music record producer, composer, and performer and Shekhar Ravjiani is an Indian music composer, trained classical singer and lyricist. Vishal is also the vocalist and lyricist of the indie rock/electronica band Pentagram, founded in 1994, and is regarded as one of the pioneers of original Indian independent music, having received recognition locally as well as globally.

The Qatar-India Year of Culture 2019 invites audiences in both Qatar and India to explore their shared cultural heritage through an exciting array of programmes, including a variety of Qatari-Indian exhibitions, musical performances, fashion, film and artistic events. The Year of Culture programme, developed under the patronage of  Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, has continued to grow under her leadership each passing year, with the Qatar-Russia Year of Culture 2018 programme being the largest cultural collaboration to date.

Qatar Airways currently operates 102 weekly flights between Doha and 13 destinations in India, including Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai, Nagpur and Thiruvananthapuram. A multiple-award-winning airline, Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Business Class’ by the 2018 World Airline Awards, managed by international air transport rating organisation, Skytrax. Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of more than 230 aircraft via its hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA), to more than 160 destinations worldwide. Qatar Airways has launched an array of exciting new destinations recently, including Gothenburg, Sweden; Mombasa, Kenya and Da Nang, Vietnam. The airline will add a number of new destinations to its extensive route network in 2019, including Malta, as well as many more.
