Qatar Airways is pleased to be the Official Airline Sponsor of the 10th annual Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) 2019, in partnership with the Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC).

The National Carrier of the State of Qatar will fly more than 20 celebrity chefs from around the globe to Doha to take part in this year’s festival, including Nobu Matsuhisa, Masaharu Morimoto, Richard Sandoval, Dominique Ansel of ‘Cronut’ fame, as well as many others. These celebrated chefs will contribute to Doha’s rich and diverse community by sharing their extraordinary culinary art and cultural flavours with visitors to this year’s QIFF.

Qatar Airways is the official [].jpgQIFF has been organised and delivered annually for the last ten years by Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) as part of its strategy to grow and diversify the country’s tourism experiences, expanding the country’s dining panorama and inspiring local entrepreneurs to introduce competitive, innovative foods and beverages. Mr. Rashed Al Qurese of QNTC commented: “In its journey of ten successful years, not only has QIFF grown to be the most popular multicultural festival in the country but it has also enriched the country’s vibrant dining scene by attracting top international chefs and creating opportunities for local startups, providing a perfect platform for them to introduce and test their food and beverage offerings in this market.”

The 11-day festival, which runs from 20-30 March at Oxygen Park at Education City, will feature more than 150 food stalls, food trucks, a cooking theatre, and food & beverage entrepreneurs, as well as a dedicated kids’ zone and cultural activities. Food stalls offering exciting cuisine from around the globe, including India, South Africa, Japan, USA and France, will all be present to share their flavours. A live cooking theatre will showcase celebrity chefs on stage creating their signature dishes while engaging with the audience. With exciting live entertainment throughout each day, the festive atmosphere promises to bring all guests  a most memorable experience.

QIFF contributes to Qatar’s dining scene by attracting international as well as local food and beverage outlets to introduce and showcase their products and service under the hospitality umbrella at the festival. A multiple-award-winning airline, Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Business Class’ by the 2018 World Airline Awards, managed by international air transport rating organisation Skytrax. It was also named ‘Best Business Class Seat’, ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’, and ‘World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge’.

Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of more than 230 aircraft via its hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA) to more than 160 destinations worldwide. The airline has launched an array of exciting new destinations recently, including Gothenburg Sweden; Mombasa, Kenya and Da Nang, Vietnam. Qatar Airways will add a number of new destinations to its extensive route network in 2019, including Lisbon, Portugal; Malta; Rabat, Morocco; Langkawi, Malaysia; Davao, Philippines; Izmir, Turkey; and Mogadishu, Somalia.
