Qatar Airways successfully participated at the Fifth Qatar International College Fair, organised by the Supreme Education Council (SEC) in Doha from the 26 – 28 October 2014. Qatar Airways had a dedicated stand at the three-day event which saw participation from more than 80 universities and colleges, including other international and local institutions in Qatar.

The airline’s Al Darb Qatarisation Programme staff were on hand to provide information on the nine educational and training programmes offered by Qatar Airways. These include: National Scholarship programme, Cadet Pilot programme, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering programme, Summer Internship programme, Graduate Development programme, Aviation Management programme, Airport Operations programme, Jossor programme and the Massey University MBA programme. 

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker said: “We pride ourselves on being pioneers in attracting Qatari talent and offer them the very best experience in the aviation industry. We are keen to keep investing and offering comprehensive development opportunities for the future leaders of the Qatar Airways Group, and in line with the Qatar 2030 national development plan.” More than 100 students and parents visited Qatar Airways’ stand each day to discuss scholarship and career opportunities available with the airline that not only provide education, but also training, guidance, summer internships and placements.

Qatar Airways participates in the Fifth 2 [].jpgSeveral Qatari students expressed an interest in knowing more about the Cadet Pilot programme and the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering programme offered by Al Darb. Qatar Airways Vice President National Talent Management, Dr. Kholode Al-Obaidli said that the response was exceptional during the Fifth Qatar International College Fair. “We participated in this event to offer and create awareness about the numerous opportunities that the aviation industry avails to students. We are very impressed with the number of students that attended the fair and are proud of the interest and motivation that the young generation has shown in developing their careers and we would like to thank the Supreme Education Council for organising the event”, she said. 

Al Darb, which is now in its fourth year, has grown steadily over the years with 450 Nationals currently participating.
