Qatar's Ambassador to Brussels and NATO HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al Thani met NATO Assistant Secretary-General Sorin Ducaru as part of a series of consecutive meetings to put the final touches on NATO's conference on the prevention of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), which will be held in Qatar from March 1 to 3, Qatar Tribune said.

At the outset of the meeting, the NATO official praised Qatar's efforts in hosting the conference, the first time the event will be held in the Middle East, which culminates the effective partnership between Qatar and NATO. Ducaru added that the conference bears special significance as it takes place during outstanding circumstances with many security challenges on the international front as well as the high-level participation of member states, those who have partnership and cooperation agreements with them, in addition to international organisations and the United Nations.
