Creating closer links between academia and industry, and advancing the development and use of innovative technologies, are the focus of a new collaboration between Qatar Foundation and ExxonMobil Qatar.

The partnership, announced today, strengthens the existing ties between the two organizations, which include ExxonMobil Qatar being an international partner at Qatar Science & Technology Park, part of Qatar Foundation Research, Development, and Innovation. A Memorandum of Understanding between Qatar Foundation and the international oil and gas company, which is a longstanding supporter of education and research in Qatar, was signed at the I AM QF event at Qatar National Convention Centre by Buthaina Ali Al Nuaimi, President, Pre-University Education, QF, and Saleh Al Mana, Vice President and Director of Government and Public Affairs for ExxonMobil Qatar.

“Collaboration is at the core of Qatar Foundation, and by working together with key national stakeholders such as ExxonMobil Qatar – with whom we continue to enjoy valuable partnerships in the spheres of education, research, and innovation – we believe we can maximize our collective contribution to the development of Qatar,” said Mrs. Al Nuaimi. “Through this agreement, we will build on the platform of cooperation that Qatar Foundation and ExxonMobil Qatar have put in place over the past years, with the aim of advancing knowledge and learning, identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for research and technology innovation, and nurturing talent and potential within Qatar.”

Dominic Genetti, Vice President and Joint Ventures Executive Director for ExxonMobil Qatar said: “Over the past two decades, ExxonMobil has established a great relationship with Qatar Foundation, collaborating on education, research, and community development. “We are delighted to have signed today’s agreement with Qatar Foundation, affirming our mutual commitment to unlock human capabilities. We look forward to building on the strong partnership and continuing our important work to fulfil the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.”
