Qatar turns a new page in managing its development with launch of its first National Development Strategy here tomorrow, under the patronage of the Heir Apparent, H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, a release issued by the General Secretariat for Development Planning said yesterday.

While the National Development Strategy is a plan for modernising Qatar, it also upholds Qatar’s cherished values, traditions and culture. The National Development Strategy provides a model that is right for Qatar. It promises new forward looking and connected approaches to policy, planning and execution.

In providing a platform for action, the strategy shows how the country can bring the aspirations of Qatar’s National Vision 2030 closer into view. It identifies priority areas for attention and sets out concrete targets for human, social, economic and environment development between 2011 and 2016.
