An equestrian photo competition has been launched today to uncover new photographic talent across Qatar.
The photo competition, launched by Qatar Museums, the body responsible for developing, promoting and sustaining Qatar’s cultural sector under the visionary guidance of its Chairperson, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, invites amateur and professional photographers to submit images that capture powerful, eye catching imagery of the striking Arabian horses in action as they race at various events organized by the Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) between November 2014 and February 2015.
The competition, running from 25th November – 26th February 2015 and launched in line with Qatar Museums’ commitment of nurturing emerging talent, celebrates the role that horses have played in Arabic art, as well as their contribution to Qatar’s heritage and culture. The overall winner will be announced at the QREC’s 40th anniversary event in February 2015, with the winner being invited on the trip of a lifetime, to the famous Racing and Equestrian event in France, The Qatar Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe in 2015. The best photos entries from the competition will also be unveiled during the anniversary event.
