Qatar Museums, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, has organized a campaign to sanitise and disinfect its museums, and parks, as part of precautionary and preventive measures to counter the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Sanitisation, spraying and disinfection work is targeting buildings, internal streets, parking areas, parks and playgrounds at the National Museum of Qatar, the Museum of Islamic Art, the Fire Station: Artist in Residence.

Commenting on the initiative, the CEO of Qatar Museums Ahmad Al Namla, said: “Thanks to the support and in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the sanitisation campaign of our museums has been achieved in line with the preventive measures taken by the state to control the spreading of this emerging virus.” “As we are facing this unprecedented situation, it is paramount to help stop the spread of coronavirus and ensure the health and safety of our society. So while our museums remain closed, QM has taken steps to give access to our galleries, collections and programs through digital platforms, in order to continue to fulfill our critical mission, virtually, of providing places for respite, education and inspiration.”
