Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), will blend the emotion of live symphonic music with the distinctive sounds of video gaming in a bespoke multimedia concert experience entitled ‘Video Games Live’.

The event will take place on Friday, 4th March 2016, at 8.00pm at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). Reflective of QF’s aspiration to contribute to a progressive society, the event aims to enhance cultural life in Qatar by promoting unique artistic events. Featuring synchronised lighting, electronic percussion, and an exclusive visual showcase of the most popular video games from past to present, ‘Video Games Live’ will help introduce new audiences—families, video game enthusiasts and non-gamers—to the symphonic experience.

Eimear Noone, the renowned Irish composer with involvement in World of Warcraft, Diablo, Metal Gear Solid, Starcraft 2, and Zelda, will conduct the performance. Tommy Tallarico, video game composer and creator of ‘Video Games Live’, will also emcee the performance as well as musically contribute to the evening’s programmeThe unique musical performance will be the first of its kind in Qatar, and ticket holders will also have access to pre- and post-show events.
