Qatar participated in the closing session of the International Monitory Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) meetings that was held today in Washington and attended by representatives of more than 188 member states in the IMF and the WB.

Qatar's delegation to the meetings was headed by HE the Minister of Finance Ali Shareef Al Emadi. The meetings were attended by HE the Governor of Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al-Thani.

The IMF and WB meetings, which were attended by finance and development ministers, central bank governors, senior private sector officials and academics, discussed issues of global concern such as: global economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development and aid effectiveness.

On the sidelines of the four-day gathering, HE the Minister of Finance met a number of ministers, where he discussed the ties of cooperation between Qatar and those countries as well as a number of issues of common interest .

HE Ali Shareef Al Emadi attended, as well, a number of meetings held in Washington on the sidelines of the IMF and WB meetings, including a meeting for finance ministers and Arab central bank governors and another for Deauville Partnership.
