Qatar’s population as on June 30, 2015 reached at about 2.34 million (to be exact 2,344,557), witnessing nine percent rise compared to June 2014, when population attained 2.15 million (2,151,745), according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, said The Peninsula. However, on month-on-month basis the population in June witnessed a marginal decline of 1.28 percent when compared to previous month’s (May, 2015) 2,374,860 persons. This is understandably due to summer vacations when a lot of Qataris and expatriates travel outside the country.

These data represents the number of persons all ages (Qataris and Non-Qataris) within the boundaries of the State of Qatar as on June 30, 2015. It does not include Qataris and Non-Qataris (with residency permits) who were outside the state's boundaries on the given date. The Ministry has released the 18th edition of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin which includes a number of year-on-year social and economic changes, in addition to statistical data recorded in June 2015.

The bulletin also indicates that June’s social security beneficiaries accounted for 12,069 citizens attaining an increase of 3.8 percent compared to last May, when the number of beneficiaries amounted to 11,629. Visitors to Qatar increased by 7.3 percent in June 2015 versus the same of period of 2014. Visitors from GCC countries made up the highest proportion (40.7 percent) of total visitors. The bulletin also highlights that the vehicles registered in June reached 9,933 compared to 9,853 in last May, with a negative month-on-month change amounting to 0.8 percent compared to last May.

Traffic violations accounted for 126,503 in June 2015, with a negative month-on-month change amounting to 12.9 percent compared to last May. The total broad money supply (M2) reached QR532bn ($146.09bn) during the month of June 2015, with year-on-year growth rise of 9.9 percent. While cash equivalents; includes deposits, increased by 2.1 percent to reach QR644bn ($176.85bn). It is noteworthy that (Qatar: Monthly Statistics) bulletin is released on a monthly basis to identify the developments and changes that occur in the social and economic aspects in Qatar.
