Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) has teamed up with How Women Work to inspire Doha to “Be the Change”. The 6th annual How Women Work conference, under the patronage of HE Sheikha Alanoud Al-Thani, encourages all women in Qatar to make positive differences to their working lives and to those around them. The conference will take place on 20th and 21st May 2015.

The conference celebrates entrepreneurship amongst women and, in support of this, QBIC has joined forces with How Women Work to offer budding female entrepreneurs a hand in realizing their aspirations.

QBIC’s new competition invites women to come up with a new business idea, pitch it to the QBIC team at the conference and win a place on their Lean Startup program. This program offers 10 weeks’ of training, information and support.  At the end of the training participants are eligible to pitch for incubation space and seed funding for their business. The competition is open to all women who live and work in Qatar. Upon buying their ticket for the HWW conference, participants have the opportunity to enter the competition.

For further inspiration, How Women Work is also bringing Esther Jacobs, aka the ‘No-Excuses-Lady’ over to Qatar on 6 May 2015. Esther has become famous as a social activist and a motivational speaker and author. Her message is, “If you really want something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.” and she is coming to Doha to help empower us to get beyond our excuses. The annual How Women Work conference provides women with ideas, solutions and even friendships. The aim of the conference is to encourage women with aspirations and ambitions to realize their goals through meeting and exchanging ideas with like-minded people.
