Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) participated in Qatar’s first International Workshop on Engineered Immune Cells in Cancer Immunotherapy (EICCI).  Which take place on the 15th and 16th of February 2019 at Sidra Medicine in Doha, Qatar.

This workshop organized by Sadra Medical Center in cooperation with the National Center for Cancer Treatment and Research and the Qatar National Fund for Scientific Research, and brought together worldwide experts in immunology, oncology, hematology, gene and cell therapy while unveiling breakthrough technologies to implement the efficacy and manufacturing of cell therapies.

HE Dr. Khalid Bin Jabor Al Thani (pictured), Chairman of (QCS) said this in his opening speech during the workshop, stressed the importance of keeping up with QCS for international experiences and expertise and taking every opportunity to develop its programs and future plans, through participation in all conferences and events inside and outside the State of Qatar, enriching its work through the exchange of ideas and visions among specialists and the implications of this to develop the field of awareness and provide the best ways and services by looking at everything that is new in this regard.

QCS also participated in the scientific committee to organize the workshop through Dr. Hadi Mohammed Abu Rashid, Head of Professional Development and Scientific Research Department, who gave a lecture entitled "Potential Community Partnership Platform Role of Qatar Cancer Society in Cancer Immunotherapy", and the charity worked to involve individuals living with  cancer in the workshop by presenting one of their stories and his experience in treatment of cancer using a distinctive technique.
