The Qatar Football Association (QFA) today signed a four-year MoU with the Indian Sports Centre (ISC) and will collaborate until 2022 to promote football among the Indian community in Qatar.

The QFA was represented by Khalid Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Ali Al Salat, Head of Media and Communications. Nilangshu Dey, President of the ISC and Mohammed S Bukhari, Head of Institutional and Commercial Development at ISC attended the signing ceremony on behalf of ISC. As part of its social responsibility strategy, the QFA will provide necessary support for all activities and events organised by the ISC. The ISC, which functions under the aegis of the Embassy of India, will focus on promoting various sports activities among the expatriate communities in Qatar.The ISC will have a strong presence in all of QFA’s events that will be organised in the coming period.

The QFA and all segments of the Indian community in Qatar have been working together for many years and have longstanding bilateral relations. The MoU closely reflects the 2021 vision of the QFA, and its commitment towards all segments of the community in Qatar and aims to strengthen its partnerships with the local community and promote community participation in football. Khalid Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications at the Qatar Football Association said: “The MoU demonstrates the QFA’s commitment to support the different communities in Qatar by organising various activities and events with all the communities in general and the Indian community in particular.”

He added: “The signing of the MoU demonstrates the social responsibility strategy of the QFA, which focuses on organising numerous community-related programs in aims to strengthen its role within the local community. The QFA has a strong relationship with the Indian community, which focuses on many areas of cooperation. We have previously supported various annual football tournaments organised among the Indian community and organised cultural and sports activities in the Indian schools in Qatar.”
