In collaboration with the Commercial Department of the US Embassy in Qatar, the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority co-hosted a special business and investment forum, which highlighted the business and investment opportunities available in both Qatar and the US.

The event, titled Doing Business and Investment in the US and Qatar Forum, took place on Monday 13 November at the St. Regis Doha, and was held in support of the QFC's strategic objective to promote the excellent opportunities available in Qatar for companies looking to grow their business. Over 100 representatives of the Qatar-US business community were in attendance. Yousuf Mohamed Al-Jaida, CEO of the QFC Authority, and Chargé D’Affaires of the US Embassy, William Grant, welcomed guests to the event and made the keynote addresses.

During his address, Al-Jaida highlighted the many US firms capitalising from Qatar's vibrant economy and infrastructure programme, and noted the benefits many US firms were gaining from choosing to establish their operations in the QFC. “The current situation has only given renewed incentive to our long-term strategy of pursuing economic diversification. If anything, these testing times have brought us closer to our allies such as the US, and have supported us as we push ahead with our goal of diversifying our economy and attracting FDI, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030,” he added.
