Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) continues creating value for its customers by releasing several new innovative, useful features, on its award-winning QIB Mobile App.

The latest update, developed with the current customers' banking needs in mind, adds new features and services that enable more remote transactions and simplify the overall banking experience. This comes as part of QIB's continued efforts to provide customers the convenience of fulfilling the majority of their banking needs remotely, from the comfort of their home, for their safety during these unprecedented times.

Due to the current circumstances and the need for social distancing, individuals have to rely more on online purchases and goods delivery to cover their basic daily needs. Through the updated QIB Mobile App, customers can now request for a temporary credit limit increase, in real time, on all their Charge cards, including Qatar Airways co-branded cards. Following a few simple steps on the Mobile App, customers can request a temporary credit card limit increase. Based on their eligibility, the limit will be granted on real time basis and enable the customers to make transactions immediately. The limit increase is offered for 30 days from the date of applying and the payment will be due in the following statement cycle.

Additionally, now the customers can pay instantly their Ooredoo and Kahramaa bills, or top-up their Ooredoo Hala Credit, using their ABSHER points. The innovative loyalty program ‘ABSHER’ is easily accessed through the QIB Mobile App at any time, from anywhere, allowing customers to view and redeem the ABSHER points they have accumulated. The program is designed to reward loyal customers with points every time you apply or use selected products or service. These points can be then redeemed over thousands of products across key categories, such as electronics, books, sports and household items or over 900 global airlines including Qatar Airways, over 450,000 hotels and thousands of car rental companies.

Since the beginning of the year, QIB partnered with Western Union to offer the fastest and easiest way to send money to anywhere in the world through the QIB Mobile App. Customers only have to add their Western Union beneficiaries on QIB's App and send cash from their QIB accounts to any beneficiary around the world.

Commenting on the updates, D. Anand, QIB’s General Manager - Personal Banking Group, said: "By digitalizing our products and services, we are enabling our customers to perform the majority of their daily transactions by simply logging into our all-inclusive Mobile App from anywhere, without the need to visit a branch. During these unprecedented times, a key measure to limit the spread of the COVID-19 is to transact only through remote, digital channels and avoid any physical contact. We urge our customers to continue using our digital channels for all their needs, while reminding them that while most of our bank employees are currently working remotely, they are available to support them with any banking request. Customers can call our Call Center or their respective Relationship Managers for any banking inquiry or support on how to use our digital banking services."

He added: "At QIB, our long-term objective is to make banking simpler, faster and safer for our customers. We will continue working on developing our Mobile App in order to meet the customers' evolving expectations, and to be able to provide them with simple, intuitive digital experiences."
