Qatar Petroleum’s Administration Directorate recently held its 2nd Annual Developee Meeting 2013, a team building session which allowed the directorate’s management and its 47 developees to interact on a range of key issues and challenges. During the meeting, which was held last June 11 at the Hilton Hotel Doha, two developees shared their career development experiences and gave essential advice on how to achieve both personal and professional goals.

There was also a presentation focusing on strategic planning that linked national, organizational and the directorate’s objectives and discussed the mandates and business plans of individual departments. The presentation also highlighted the role of developees and some of the factors critical to successful career development.

During the open discussion, Mr. Ahmad Ali Al-Mawlawi, Director of Administration of QP, underscored the important part that the developees had to play, both at their current level and in the future. He stressed the value of teamwork and he also encouraged them to openly express their views, suggestions and comments.

A developee interviewed after the meeting commented that the session was an opportunity for ideas and suggestions to come to the surface and it also provided them a chance to discuss how to improve and find ways to move forward. The event was very fruitful, with a number of follow-up actions planned based on a constructive debate and as proposed by the developees during the meeting.
