Qatar Petroleum participated as the silver sponsor of the 2nd Middle East Maintenance Conference & Exhibition (MAINTCON 2012), which was held last week at the Gulf International Convention Centre in Manama, Bahrain.

The four-day event was inaugurated on December 2 by His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Bahrain. HE Al-Khalifa later visited the QP booth, where he was presented with a gift by Mr. Khalid Yousuf Al-Sahlawi, Manager for Integrated Facilities of QP’s Dukhan Operations.

Other senior QP officials who attended the event included Mr. Soud Jaleel Al-Ruwaili, Assistant Manager, Production Operations (Gas Recycling), and Mr. Jaber Hamad Al-Khayarin, Assistant Manager, Gas Production. QP representatives took part in MAINTCON 2012 to exchange experiences with other professionals in the field of maintenance and to emphasize the vital role played by proper maintenance in the safe operation and efficiency of equipment in the oil and gas sector.

Held with theme “A Journey Towards Excellence,” MAINTCON 2012 attracted the participation of over 800 delegates consisting of senior executives and experts, consultants, specialists, engineers and other professionals in the field of maintenance. The biennial event was organized by the Gulf Society of Maintenance Professionals (GSMP), in collaboration with the Bahrain Society of Engineers.
