Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index lost 56.11 points, or 0.64 percent, last week when the bourse closed at 8,749.65 points. Trading value during last week decreased by 20.98 percent to reach QR974.25m compared to QR1.23bn at the end of previous week. 

Trading volume decreased by 5.24 percent to reach 48.48 million shares, as against 51.16 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 8.99 percent, to reach 16,603 transactions as compared to 18,243 transactions at the end of previous week. Market cap fell by 1.25 percent to reach QR482.38bn as compared to QR488.51bn at the end of previous week. Banking and financial services sector led traded value last week with 29.47 percent of the total. Industries sector accounted for 23.91 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 23.85 percent and consumer goods and services sector accounted 10.43 percent. Telecoms sector led traded volume last week with 39.45 percent of the total traded volume. Industries sector accounted for 22.55 percent. Banking and financial services sector accounted for 19.95 percent and real estate sector accounted for 7.80 percent.

Banking and financial services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 28.61 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 22.01 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 17.78 percent and real estate sector accounted for 10.87 percent. From the 47 listed companies 15 ended last week higher, while 27 fell and three remained unchanged. Vodafone Qatar led trading value last week accounting for 17.11 percent of the total. QNB accounted for 8.36 percent and Industries Qatar accounted for 8.15 percent, reports QNA. 

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 74.61 points, or 0.85 percent, yesterday compared to previous day’s closing. The volume of shares traded increased to 11.17 million from 5.48 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR241.42m from QR155.94m on Wednesday. Out of the 47 listed companies shares of 43 companies saw trading yesterday. From these, 15 gained and 28 closed lower. Indices of one sectors ended in red and six sector ended in green today. QSE Total Return Index lost 0.85 percent to 15,415.91 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index down 0.69 percent to 3,546.91 points. QSE All Share Index decreased 0.89 percent to 2,559.40 points.
