Qatar Foundation For Rehabilitation of Special Needs (QSRSN) launched its yearly programme to develop the skills and abilities of persons with disabilities who are members, guardians and caregivers of the foundation, and which includes a range of targeted events that will last until the end of August.

The programme is launched this year with the participation of members of the foundation’s educational and rehabilitation centre for girls, to be expanded annually in the next version to include all members of the association throughout the country, as well as to increase the specialised programmes offered, QSRSN executive director Amir al-Mulla said. Al-Mulla added that foundation will organise a series of workshops under the supervision and follow-up of a group of specialists in the field of psychology and disability, noting that the programmes is aimed at developing the skills of persons with disabilities, the early exploration, refinement and development of their talents and abilities and the enhancement of their access and skills.

Meanwhile, QSRSN adviser Dr Tariq al-Aasawi said that the programme includes overseas visits and various recreational activities aimed at integrating persons with disabilities into the community, further noting the diversity of the activities it contains, “sports, social, cultural and recreational”. Al-Aasawi added that the programme will evolve every year to include all types of disabilities and all affiliates in different parts of the country.
