Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) is engaging the local community in Qatar throughout the Qatar Summer Festival (QSF) 2014 by launching various competitions through the festival’s social media channels. The competitions aim to allow followers to gain information about tourism in Qatar while offering multiple chances for participants to win valuable prizes, tourist experiences, and promotions from across Qatar. The festival’s social media accounts provide comprehensive details about all the QSF activities.

The festival launched three competitions that began on August  18 and will extend until September 27. The entertainment and cultural competitions focus on QSF, Qatar tourist attractions, Qatar’s culture and heritage, and many other aspects that encourage visitors, citizens, and residents to take part in answering questions and getting the chance to win prizes.

The “Sharing Fun” competition focuses on photography, videos and creative writing of appealing expressions and phrases related to both the country and the festival. Those in Qatar experiencing the festival can participate in the contest by submitting unique pictures and video recordings that correspond with the dedicated week’s theme. For this competition, one submission will be declared the winner across the festival’s platforms each week.

Participants can gain points each time they interact with the social media channels by tweeting, retweeting, or publishing QSF-related announcements on their accounts while tagging the QSF account and using the #QSF2014 hashtag in each tweet or post. QTA is also teaming up with Al Rayyan TV to present a daily competition from 9am-10am from Sunday to Thursday.
