Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has launched the sixth edition of its social programme “Bashair Al Rahmaa” (good news of mercy) in an event held recently at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC).
 
The launch programme, held under the slogan ‘Kun Rahmaa' ‘be kind’, was organised in collaboration with QNCC and Qatar Chamber. The event was held under supervision The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. Dr Ayed bin Dabssan Al Qahtani, Chairman, Board of Trustees, and General Director, RAF said: “RAF is keen to serve human beings in all possible ways such as psychologically, behaviourally, intellectually along with covering cultural dimensions”.
 
Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani Al Thani, Chairman of Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) and Dr Ayed bin Dabssan Al Qahtani they honoured representatives of institutions which have supported the programme. The month-long programme includes competitions, charity market, exhibition, drawings of children of Syrian refugees, play area for children, restaurant for families with low prices, in addition to main programme which consist of religious lectures delivered by famous Islamic scholars from Qatar and other Arab and Muslim countries.
 
The programme aims to promote the values of nobility and goodness in the hearts of people through various awareness programme, said Al Qahtani, adding that a number of Islamic scholars are supervising these awareness programme. He also briefed about different RAF programme being run across the world to support education and to sponsor orphans. He also shed light on RAF city which was inaugurated in Turkey last month which is the largest city in the world for orphans.
 
For his side, Mohammed bin Tawar Al Kawari, Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber, appreciated the programme and hoped that it would achieve its goals. The programme suit all family members including men, women, youth and children.
