Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, has earned the prestigious SA8000 Certification for high standards in the workplace. Qatar’s leading development NGO, which supports low income workers in Qatar and provides access to education through innovative local and global projects, secured the global achievement recognising policies and procedures that protect basic human rights.

ROTA officials said it was a remarkable achievement, being the first organisation in Qatar and the first NGO in the Middle East to earn the certificate, supporting Qatar Foundation in its efforts of becoming a catalyst for change regionally by leveraging its experiences, knowledge and capabilities. The recognition followed a rigorous three-year evaluation process by Social Accountability International which advocates human rights of workers worldwide.

“Respecting human dignity and celebrating the contribution of each individual to Qatar’s journey is a value deeply embedded in ROTA, in the Qatar National Vision 2030 and in the fabric of our community,” said Essa Al-Mannai, Executive Director of ROTA. “Complementing larger-scale efforts nationally, these certifications show ROTA’s determination to lead by example, and would not have been possible without each and every member of the ROTA family.”
