Qatar’s sailors kept their good results  in  the single competitions on the second day of the prestigious Qatar International Regatta 2016 at Katara Beach on Wednesday. Qatar team made wide strides to compete for the titles of five classes including lazer 4.7,  Hobie 16 and Optimist.
Qatar have 16 sailors taking part in the international regatta.The sailors from the host nation will compete with another 50 sailors drawn from nine different countries including India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Great Britain, Tunisia, Kuwait, Spain, France and Italy, according to Qatar Sailing and Marine Sports Federation (QMSF). The regatta is governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RSS) and World Sailing Equipment Rules of Sailing (ERS).The regatta is open to boats of the Optimist, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, Laser Standard, 470 & Hobie-16 classes in the fleet racing.
In team racing with Optimist class, 8 teams (maximum 2 teams per country) consisting of four or five sailors (maximum 3 of the same gender) and a coach may be entered by their coaches or team leader.
