Speakers and delegates who participated in Josoor Institute’s course titled ‘An Introduction to Running Major Events’, which concluded successfully on the 17th of September.

The course was oversubscribed with more than 70 delegates including professionals from the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, and local and regional federations who are bidding, organising or staging large-scale events were in attendance. The courses enabled participants to achieve an understanding of all key areas of major event management, highlighted potential challenges and shared ways they can be addressed. Josoor Institute ran the same course in December 2013 and repeated it today due to popular demand. Once again receiving high praise from delegates, the course is now being planned for a third time with dates to be confirmed.

Speakers and delegates participated 2 [qatarisbooming.com].jpgJosoor Institute invited world-class experts to share their experience with local and regional professionals, which included; Nigel Rushman, the founder of Rushmans, a group that specialises in various areas of event delivery; Paul Williamson who recently held the position of director of ticketing at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which sold 10.99 million tickets with a value of $1 billion; Andy Young, Senior Consultant at Wembley Consulting who has worked with the O2 Arena and London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games; and Fatma Al Remaihi the acting CEO of the Doha Film Institute.

The next Josoor Institute course will take place on 23 – 24 September 2014 and is titled ‘The Business of Football.’
