The famous Ikebana artist Tenkei Nomura held a demonstration at the Grand Heritage Doha Hotel and  Spa with the Ambassador of Japan His Excellency KenjiroMonji and his wife in attendance. The hotel enjoys a close relationship with the embassy and as such was pleased to invite the renowned Ikebana artist.

The demonstration took place at the lobby of the Grand Heritage. Guests and members of staff were able to interact and gain inspiration from watching Nomura’s work. The artist creates innovative pieces and places his skills on display permitting the audience to gather tips from his approach. He combines arrangements in an asymmetrical form while making use of empty space as an essential feature of the composition.

Commenting on the event, Pierre Marie Vasseur, General Manager of Grand Heritage, said “It was a pleasure for us to have the Ambassador of Japan His Excellency KenjiroMonji and his wife in our midst at this demonstration. As always Grand Heritage is happy to host world renowned artists. We at Grand Heritage truly value and appreciate the creation of art and it has been a pleasure to see someone in the caliber of Tenkei Nomura at work. We know that he has inspired those who have watched him create his masterpieces.”

Nomura’s love for Ikebana began in junior high school. However, he studied the art professionally at Sogetsu-style Ikebana school in Tokyo. In 2011 he moved to France to study Flower Decoration and he shot to fame through his lectures and demonstrations in France, Romania and Saudi Arabia. Today he has a worldwide reputation as an artist.
