In the giving spirit of Ramadan, Vodafone’s employees are supporting Qatar Charity’s Workers’ Iftar Programme. On a weekly basis throughout the holy month, Vodafone employees are helping to deliver over 400 meals to worker camps in the Industrial City.

For every hour of employee volunteering, Vodafone Qatar has pledged to donate QR 1000 to Qatar Charity’s Family Sponsorship program, supporting low-income families in Qatar. “We are so proud of our employees who are always quick to do good things for the community when opportunities arise. Empowering employees to do good and supporting employee charity initiatives is one of our core beliefs at Vodafone. We are honoured to support all Qatar Charity’s initiatives that have helped millions of people in Qatar and around the globe,” said Dana Haidan, Head of CSR, Vodafone Qatar.

Vodafone employees and Qatar 2 [].jpgNasser Al Yafei, Executive Director for Local Development at Qatar Charity, applauded the partnership with Vodafone Qatar, underlining the importance of cooperation with the relevant institutions, which immeasurably helps the beneficiaries especially in the Holy Month of Ramadan, the month of giving. Al Yafei also noted that Qatar Charity and Vodafone Qatar also had several other joint initiatives which were highly successful and reflected positively upon the beneficiaries whom Qatar Charity is dedicated to help under a wide variety of projects.

Vodafone’s employees  also volunteered their time last Thursday  at the Qatar Charity organized Garangao event for orphans in Qatar where they played with the children and handed out sweets to them. This comes in a long line of Vodafone employee volunteering under the Company’s employee volunteering programme “Kafu”. Most recently Vodafone employees took part in a blood donation drive in association with Hamad Medical Corporation. Moreover, in partnership with Reach Out To Asia, Vodafone supports employee volunteering trips to several projects around Asia where employees contribute to capacity building of the beneficiary communities. In addition, Vodafone charity cycling team, Qatar Sandstormers, have cycled over 700 kms through Europe recently raising funds for Qatar Charity.
